What Is The Session About?

In today’s business environment of new work competencies being added frequently and high expectation of skills capability to perform, building up of Competency Dictionary for job roles has become important. It serves as a standard for work skills performance reference, for career articulation and training needs planning of employees, and as an active repository of company skills information, in the high mobility phenomenon of today’s workers.

There is a general lack of this competency dictionary development and deployment knowhow in the marketplace – from inventorisation of task skills through development of performance standards and establishment of skills credentials for employee recognition and use in experienced hiring.

The course employs the Functional Job Analysis approach, which provides a systematic way to describe work from the perspectives of the Worker, the Work, and the Work Setting. It encompasses functions, subfunctions, activities, and tasks, as well as the functional requirements of each task concerning data, people, things, reasoning, math, language, worker instructions, performance standards, and training content. This approach serves as the foundation for Job Task Analysis and Skills Inventorisation within the course.

The course covers the following topics:

  • Competency Dictionary Fundamentals and Construction Skills (Day One)
  • Skills Credential Fundamentals and Implementation (Day Two)

What Does The Session Cover?
