INCORPORATE ADULT LEARNING THEORIES AND APPROACHES FOR ADULT LEARNING

With Knud Illeris’s model of cognitive, social and environmental aspects of learning underpinning this module, participants explore the ways in which adults learn and how this leads to approaches that enhance the design, development and delivery of adult learning.

The module aims to take the participant through the process of designing and developing adult learning courseware that increases the receptivity of their learners to the material being presented.

open
FACILITATE ADULT LEARNING

This module seeks to hone participants' skills in classroom facilitation to make learning happen. It provides opportunities for participants to improve their presence in the classroom, demonstrate skills to engage learners and facilitate learning activities with small groups.

open
IMPLEMENT AND EVALUATE ASSESSMENT

The aim of this module is to familiarise participants with the concepts behind effective assessment. It includes the principles of assessment, the rules of evidence, the methods and tools used, as well as the ethical conduct of assessment.

INTEGRATED PRACTICUM

The Integrated Practicum will involve an attachment with a training organisation to allow participants to synthesise and put into practice the theoretical skills picked up in the core modules of the programme. During the course of the Integrated Practicum, IAL will provide a supervisor to monitor and assess participants' performance in the host organisation.

CAPSTONE PROJECT

The Capstone Project, undertaken by DACE participants upon completion of the elective modules, serves as a means to further develop appreciation and insight into their chosen areas of specialisation. The project will be supervised by an IAL-assigned supervisor.
