The Adult Education Professionalisation (AEP) initiative is a step forward in creating a strong, dynamic and forward-looking Adult Education profession in Singapore. AEP aims to advance the professional standards and identity of Adult Educators as professionals recognised for both pedagogical and professional excellence.
To raise the quality and professionalism of the Training and Adult Education sector, it is important that we enable Adult Educators to continue to deepen their professional skills, and to be recognised for their mastery of skills. This is particulary so, in view of the crucial role that Adult Educators play in supporting the national SkillsFuture movement to impart knowledge and skills to our workforce.
On the 24th of October 2017, SkillsFuture Singapore has accorded the highest award of Adult Education Fellow (AEF) to five Adult Education professionals who set the benchmark for quality and excellence, and who serve as role models to the Training and Adult Education sector. The graduation ceremony was officiated by Senior Minister of State for Education and Communications and Information, Dr Janil Puthucheary.

ALL Adult Educators (not just trainers of WSQ programmes) who want to develop their Adult Education careers are eligible to apply for AEP.
AEP confers professional recognition to Adult Educators. Participation in AEP is voluntary and Adult Educators who meet the entry requirements will be recognised as an Associate Adult Educator (AAE) or Specialist Adult Educator (SAE), depending on their skills mastery and area of specialisation. The highest recognition will be that of an Adult Education Fellow (AEF), which is invitation-based or by nomination only, based on the Adult Educator's achievements and contributions.
As an Adult Educator recognised under AEP, you are eligible to apply for the SkillsFuture Study Award for the Training and Adult Education sector to propel skills deepening. The monetary award of $5,000 can be used to defray out-of-pocket expenses with a course of your choice relevant to your work.
