What is this programme about?

How do you get a room full of strangers to quickly get comfortable with each other? How do you set the tone so they learn in a cohesive and relaxed manner? And how do you sense your learners’ energy levels dipping, so you may raise it quickly and in an entertaining way? These are the key focus of this full day’s session.

Most adult learning sessions begin with an icebreaker. When carefully crafted and well facilitated, these can transform a session and set the tone for an entire workshop. This lends truth to Aristotle’s proverb: Well begun is half done.

Icebreakers and energizers are multifaceted tools for adult educators. Used as part of a learning strategy and designed to assist in accomplishing learning objectives, they are powerful and effective enhancer in any learning environment. In this full day session, we’ll explore techniques to match suitable icebreakers to desired outcomes.

In this program, you’ll pick up 21 awesome icebreakers and energizers – many of which you will experience first hand. Using and adapting these, you’ll get your learners laughing and moving. You’ll be able to engage, energize and wake up your learners. Improve teamwork and reduce learning stress with these easy to use techniques.

  • Step-by-Step Processes: You’ll learn to use the best icebreakers and energizers in a systematic manner, so you’re ready to roll them out in your learning programs.
  • Collaborative Learning: You’ll work in groups to quickly and effectively put what you learn into immediate practice.
  • Learn Like You’ll Teach: This program is designed to deliver the learning just like you will once you’ve mastered the techniques.
  • Interactive, Hands-On, Multi-Mode Learning: You’ll learn through case studies, practical applications, video, games and more.

This is an active, hands-on session. You’ll get to use, test and experiment with some of the most exciting and effective icebreakers & energizers around. Together with session peers, you’ll use them, tweak them and determine how you can best use them. And you’ll have loads of fun!
