What is this programme about?

With the transition to online learning, educators and trainers are developing new skills to make the most of the technological innovations available to them. During the transition from in-person to online training, it is vital to ensure that virtual learning experiences remain meaningful and impactful by adapting essential facilitation skills to these new learning environments.

Learn how to adapt your existing teaching practices to an online environment by revisiting common facilitation practices within the context of virtual learning. By returning to the fundamentals of training and education, and reframing them in this digital context, you will come to understand how to transition into this medium of instruction, whether you are new to the approach or already have experience teaching online.

This four-hour virtual workshop gives you the opportunity to explore ways in which proven existing practices can be redeployed in a virtual learning environment. You will come to understand ways in which you can make learning accessible and achievable, sustain engagement through the careful selection of technological tools, and create effective and meaningful learning experiences which meet your objectives. These ideas and issues will be explored in a virtual classroom using Zoom, providing you the opportunity to try these approaches for yourself, which then provides you with further insights into the way you can develop them further. By integrating them into your own online training delivery, you will find the transition from face-to-face to virtual learning smoother, and will retain all the effectiveness of your own tried and tested methods.
