This session is held on 19 July, 3.00pm to 5.00pm.

The fallout from COVID-19, continuing advances in digital technology, and intensifying pent-up demand for student centred learning have combined to present an unprecedented opportunity to transform education across whole systems. COVID-19 has accelerated a large-scale digital adoption and transformation, leading to an increased need for acquiring new skills. This powerful shift to a learner-centred system will be amplified by technology and driven by education that is steeped in purpose and meaning.

During this shift, technology has played a critical role in enabling learners to stay connected, engaged, and motivated. Educators around the world are continuing the learning journey for their classes by integrating video, game-based learning, and powerful collaboration tools into their virtual lessons, and learners are experiencing a new type of learning, which will have an important, lasting impact.

This is a fully online session conducted via ZOOM.  Participants can participate in the session from any venue of their convenience with a laptop / device that is compatible with ZOOM.  More details on participating in the session will be send to the confirmed registrants.

 

What is the session about?

 

The third part of this 4-part series will cover:

  • Step-by-Step Processes: You’ll learn to use a repertoire of tools in a progressive manner, from theory to practice and more practice.
  • Collaborative Learning: You’ll work in groups virtually and dive deep into discussions and co-create learning via collaborative learning technology tools.
  • Build Your Network: You’ll get to connect, learn, and support each other in the journey to shape the Future of Learning.

To fully understand Learning Techology and how you can use them in your TAE career, this track will offer a total of 4 sessions that will be released throughout 2022. Stay tuned and sign up for the last session once it is released!

About the speaker

Tan Guo Qiang (Mr)

Specialist Adult Educator – Curriculum Development

Tan Guo Qiang specializes in Educational Management and Research, Coaching, Facilitation and Learning Technology. He is a proponent in the principles of lifelong learning, learning for life. He brings along ten years of experience in managerial and training positions. He spearheaded the development of training systems and policies and the transformation of curriculums in SAF training community.

Guo Qiang holds a Master of Arts in Educational Management from National Institute of Education, Nanyang Technological University. He was awarded the Degree of Merit in the Bachelor of Science in Human Factors in Safety with Military Studies from Singapore University of Social Sciences. Guo Qiang is currently pursuing his Doctorate Degree with National Institute of Education, Nanyang Technological University. Guo Qiang is currently the Chairperson for Special Interest Group – Learning Technology as part of Institute for Adult Learning (IAL) Adult Educator Network (AEN) initiatives.
