KEY GOAL 1

Developing a Self-Directed Learning Workforce

Building the workforce of tomorrow where every individual is driven to continuously learn and upskill themselves.

With changing job roles and the need for new skill sets, the workforce needs to transform to ensure they remain relevant and resilient to the evolving needs of enterprises.

Cultivating a spirit of inquiry and innovation among employees, in organisations, will become pivotal to workforce and enterprise sustainability.

We will play a part in building the workforce of tomorrow through:

THE PROVISION OF INNOVATIVE AND RELEVANT TRAINING BY TAE PROFESSIONALS

For the next five years, IAL will continue to serve TAE entrants and existing professionals by helping them upskill and benchmark against the national TAE Skills Framework, and recognise them for their TAE achievements. In turn, with new and innovative approaches to teaching and learning, these professionals will go on to empower every individual in the workforce to succeed in the new economy.

EMPLOYEE-DRIVEN INNOVATION (EDI)

Core in providing the ground for greater accumulation of innovation potentials for the industry, EDI projects focus on the generation and implementation of new ideas, processes and products initiated at the employee level, and is critical to improving business performance. Encouraging the adoption of EDI projects will spark the passion for creating everyday improvements at the workplace.

TRANSLATIONAL RESEARCH PROJECTS IN LINE WITH THE NEXT BOUND OF SKILLSFUTURE

In recognition that IAL’s research will have an impact and contribution to national conversations and efforts on lifelong learning, and in bringing about an inclusive society, we are creating a common space for trialling and experimentation by IAL and various stakeholders. This will enable a seamless application of research findings to the design and development of new skills and jobs.
