Programme Overview

 

Have you already established yourself as an Adult Educator and want to expand your service portfolio beyond training? 

The WSQ Advanced Facilitation Programme (AFP) offered by Institute for Adult Learning in partnership with Facilitators Network Singapore, takes you from the ACLP programme to equip you with additional skills to perform as a group process facilitator in varying contexts.

This programme focuses on group process facilitation skills that will enable you to increase the likelihood of sustained positive change by addressing mindsets (including assumptions, values and beliefs) that may inhibit team development and organisation transformation.

In this 9-day programme, you will gain knowledge and skills on facilitating behaviour change and group interactions. This course is rigorous and demanding of your time and effort but is definitely rewarding as you internalise your learning through practical experiences. 

This programme is offered by the Institute for Adult Learning (IAL), an autonomous institute of the Singapore University of Social Sciences (UEN: 200504979Z) (SUSS).

 

Learning Outcomes

 

Graduates will acquire essential skills to

  • Learn a field tested facilitation model and a wide range of group process facilitation tools and techniques.
  • Learn the skills to engage and empower teams to achieve their desired goals. 
  • Practice & receive feedback based on the INIFAC (International Institute for Facilitation) PAC3E framework.
  • Learn Virtual Facilitation tools and techniques to conduct effective online meetings.
  • Understand what it takes to work towards INIFAC CCF™ (Certified Competent Facilitator) Certification.

 

 

Who Should Attend

 

Training and Adult Education professionals with experience in curriculum and instructional design, courseware development and facilitation of WSQ and non-WSQ training, as well as facilitation interventions for organisations

In particular, it is recommended for existing Training and Adult Education professionals who want to:

  • Deepen and expand their capabilities to design and deliver learning facilitation
  • Deploy process facilitation to enable sustained learning and change

 

 

 

Modules

 

WSQ Advanced Facilitation Programme (AFP) covers the specific skills needed for how you can use process facilitation to reach group goals, and create mindset shifts to improve learning effectiveness.

Behaviour Change Facilitation

 Understand the role of mindsets and behaviour change and learn the tools and techniques to enable  mindset shifts.

 Design and deliver a process facilitation session using skills and techniques to enable optimal group  participation and achieve stakeholders' objectives.

  • WSQ Advanced Certificate in Learning and Performance (or equivalent)

OR

WSQ Advanced Certificate in Training and Assessment (or equivalent)

  • Possess 3 years of experience in facilitated training and instructional design training and instructional design, for a variety of learning environments

  • For company-sponsored applicants, full payment of the course fees shall be made to IAL within the 30 days credit term from the date of invoice.

SkillsFuture Credit

 

(1) Only self-sponsored applicant can use SkillsFuture Credit.

(2) You can use SkillsFuture Credit and SkillsFuture Credit Top-Up to offset the fees. Please register within 60 days from start date of the programme. 

(3) You cannot use the $500 Additional SkillsFuture Credit (Mid-Career Support) which was disbursed in October 2020 to Singapore Citizens aged 40 to 60 as this programme does not qualify as a Career Transition Programme.

How to Apply

 

Documents required
 

The following documents will need to be submitted alongside the application. 

  • Documentary evidence of Level 7 literacy skills in the Employability Skills WSQ framework or minimum Grade B4 in GCE ‘O’ Level English.
  • WSQ Advanced Certificate in Training and Assessment (ACTA) or WSQ Advanced Certificate in Learning and Performance (ACLP) certificate.

 

Application process
 

(1) Select 'SCHEDULE / APPLY' button to view available schedules for WSQ Advance Facilitation Programme (AFP).

(2) From the Programme Schedule page, select 'APPLY' button to proceed with application.

(3) You will be required to login to MyIAL. If you are new to MyIAL, register for a new account.

  • Self-sponsored Applicant (Applying to the programme for yourself):

Select 'Applicant/Learner' as User Role.

  • Company-sponsored Applicant (Applying to the programme on behalf of your employees/staff):

Select 'Corporate' as User Role.

 

Self-sponsored Applicant:

Please make payment at end of online application or by 11.59pm (Singapore Time) to confirm your application to the programme. If payment is not received by the stated time, your application will automatically be cancelled.

Company-sponsored Applicant:

IAL will send an invoice to your company after online application has completed.

Note: Applicants are required to register for both modules of the Advanced Facilitation Programme.

Administrative Matters

  • There will be no replacement or make-up lesson for learners who have missed a class.

  • If you fall short of the 75% attendance requirement in a module, you will not be allowed to take assessments. You may request a re-scheduling of session(s). Terms and conditions with an applicable fee apply:

All of IAL's courses include a substantial component of self-directed learning. As such, we expect learners to complete their preparation work and/or assignments independently before the scheduled classroom time.

  • Take note of, and observe all submission deadlines of assignments, which may include but not limited to written assignments (draft and final), video recording, self/peer assessment record, etc. Failure to do so may result in chargeable re-scheduling/re-assessment and/or a 'Not Yet Competent' assessment result for the module.
  • Final assignment must be submitted by the prescribed deadline before the scheduled assessment date; failing which you will be deemed to have forfeited your assessment attempt. You will be required to schedule a one-time re-assessment within 5 working days of the initial assessment date at a charge of S$160 (before GST).
  • Exceptional circumstances should be submitted to IAL with supporting documents for consideration, and upon review, IAL's decision will be final.

 

  • All WSQ certificates are issued by SkillsFuture Singapore (SSG) through MyskillsFuture Portal. Your SOAs, transcript or full qualification will be available 4 to 6 weeks upon the completion of the module or final assessment.
  • Notifications of e-Certificates (e-Certs) are also available via the MySkillsFuture mobile App.

Singaporeans and permanent residents can access/download the WSQ e-Certs upon logging in to the MySkillsFuture portal via SingPass and following the steps below:

  • Go to the MySkillsFuture portal
  • Click the SingPass icon and log in via SingPass
  • Go to Skills Passport > click on Certificates to view WSQ e-Certs records
  • Select trainee’s WSQ e-Certs and click on “Download e-Certs”

Foreign trainees could follow the steps below:

  • Go to the MySkillsFuture portal
  • Go to 'Digital Services'.
  • Under 'Individuals', click 'Download Certificates'.
  • Click 'No Portal ID'.
  • Enter the relevant information to retrieve your certificates.
