Brief Synopsis

The Institute for Adult Learning (Singapore), partnering Griffith University (Australia), has launched the new Master of Learning and Professional Development (MLPD) programme in February 2020. This new programme is developed in tandem with the evolving Training and Adult Education (TAE) sector needs, and offers an educational pathway for industry practitioners and TAE professionals who are seeking to develop and lead provisions of Continuing Education and Training (CET).

The MLPD programme will strengthen and deepen learners’ knowledge and skills in the fields of Adult Learning, CET, and Professional Development by drawing on learners' existing vocational knowledge and practice to build capacities for leadership, innovation and professional work. The programme aims to realise this through the broadening and deepening of learners' theoretical, practical and research-based knowledge and skills, with identification of how these may be applied to their workplace, organisation or educational institution setting.

The MLPD programme is thus, designed to:

  • Develop educational leaders who are able to innovate and transform TAE practices so as to enhance national workforce capacity to become more productive.
  • Respond to changing circumstances, including differences in demographics and transformative learning innovations and practices.
  • Enable practitioners and professionals to be more competitive in the global economy.

The courses offered under the MLPD programme are aligned with leading trends and competencies outlined in the TAE Skills Framework, as well as global developments in continuing education and professional development

Registration for Cohort 2 (commencing in Jan 2021) is now open. Join us at the course preview to discover how the MLPD can help propel your TAE to new heights.
