Cynthia Lau is an energetic and enthusiastic facilitator who thrives on creating engaging, inspiring, and practical learning experiences. Her key focus is enabling organisations to achieve sustainable results and performance from learning. Since 1997, Cynthia has been involved in a broad spectrum of work such as capacity development of facilitators and trainers, development of training manuals for business and sales processes, and writing organisation-specific case studies. Her current work looks at:
· Training of trainers, facilitators, and curriculum developers
· Facilitating and developing leaders for innovation and change management
· Developing workplace learning interventions
· Facilitating employee engagement and growth mindset transformation
· Providing career guidance to Adult Educators as an Adult Educator Career Advisor with the Institute for Adult Learning (IAL), Singapore.
Cynthia has also worked as a curriculum consultant/facilitator for several public service reform training programmes for emerging economies such as Cambodia, Laos, Pakistan, and Sri Lanka. Her international experience also includes the training of participants from ASEAN, Australia, Africa, India, and the Dutch Caribbean.
Some of Cynthia’s past clients in Singapore include AVNet EM, Becton Dickinson BD Medical, Economic Development Board, Defence Science and Technology Agency, National Computer Systems, Singapore Police Force, Ministry of Education, Ministry of Defence, Ministry of Home Affairs, Symrise Asia Pacific, Vopak Singapore, and Zuellig Pharmaceuticals.
Cynthia holds a Masters in Education (Training & Development) from the University of Sheffield and a B.Soc Sc (Hons) in Sociology from the National University of Singapore. She also possesses a Certificate IV in Training and Development (Australia), an Advanced Certificate in Training and Assessment (ACTA), and a Diploma in Adult Continuing Education (DACE). Her professional certifications include Certified Professional Facilitator (International Association for Facilitators), Edward De Bono’s 6 Thinking Hats, and The Seven Habits of Highly Effective People. She has been a Special Adult Educator (SAE) under the Adult Educator Professionalisation scheme since 2015.
Cynthia’s more recent professional certifications include the Advanced Certificate in Career Facilitation, ‘What Motivates Me Engagement Training’ Facilitator, and IAL Certified Workplace Learning Specialist.
