What is this programme about?
MOOCs or Massive Open Online Courses have captured the public’s imagination over the last few years with large class sizes, exceeding 200,000 online learners. But what are they and what impact will they have on our organisations? How are they different from the usual types of e-learning courses? What are the various e-designs adopted by MOOC developers and how can training institutions and organisations take advantage of these online course platforms to deliver training to their learners and staff?
An introduction to the current e-learning platforms available for learners e.g. Udemy, Canvas, Coursera and Udacity will be made to set the context for this session. Differences in terms of what the e-learning programmes on the various platforms entail would also be elaborated..
