What is this programme about?

Increasing training product saturation and a rising gig workforce in the Training & Adult Education (TAE) sector will present immense challenges particular for TAE freelancers. As such, it is imperative for Freelancers to be able to create strong personal branding to differentiate their core expertise and service offerings through creating quality brand awareness to sustain their competitive advantage by continually attracting potential service buyers. Having a good grasp of widely popular digital marketing tools is thus essential to brand oneself effectively in today’s digital economy.

Social Media has made it possible for us to market ourselves, our products and services in an affordable and targeted way, so as to reach our desired audience quickly, engage with them, and eventually converting them to be loyal paying customers.

It can feel daunting if you’re new to digital marketing but there are ways to make the adoption of digital marketing fun and exciting, not only for the consumer but also for the content curator.  We will be introducing Social Media Marketing platforms, specifically Instagram and YouTube for Trainers and Adult Educators who would like to brand and market themselves through these platforms.

Instagram is most effective with savvy Millennials who seek deeper connections with brands and business prior to purchasing, and Instagram also has one of the highest organic reach for social media marketing, making it a cost-effective platform to advertise and create brand awareness and positioning.

What about YouTube? It is estimated that people watch more than a billion hours of video on YouTube every day. Viewers aged 18 and over spend 41.9 minutes on YouTube daily, on average. What’s more, YouTube is the world’s second-most visited website, right after its parent company, Google.

In this session, we will be sharing some ways to kickstart your Instagram and YouTube Marketing as Trainers and Adult Educators who would like to use Social Media to create greater brand awareness and brand authority for themselves online.

The programme provides an overview on the Singapore’s first ever Geragogy Guidelines, developed by Council for Third Age (C3A) and Singapore University of Social Sciences (SUSS) , which was launched in March 2021.

Interested users can visit the C3A website to download their free copy at https://www.c3a.org.sg/geragogy-guidelines
