Part I: Google Tools 101

How will training be like post-COVID-19? The new norm may mean a shift towards more blended classes, incorporating online sessions to facilitate learning, with workplace and classroom learning modes complementing it. What are the economical and user-friendly technology tools out there which can help you design a collaborative and engaging learning experience across the different learning modes?

This programme is designed to introduce the range of Google tools such as Google Drive, Google Classroom, Google Docs, Google Sheets, Google Forms, Google Slides, Google Drawings, Google Sites, Google Groups, Google Meet, personalising Chrome apps and extensions to make your lessons more dynamic and engaging across the online, classroom and even workplace learning spaces.

This session will be conducted online with skills practice incorporated for a short hands-on session. You are expected that to have some basic technical skills of navigating and using browsers to access the internet.  Pre-work is a MUST for the session to be effective.

Furthermore, this session will cover all the required information required for learners to work towards the attainment of Google for Education Level 1 certification exams should they aspire to.

What comes to mind when you think of online training?  Synchronous, asynchronous, self-paced, e-learning? There are numerous learning modes and how you can blend your classroom or workplace learning sessions with the online space.

Part 2 of the ‘Power Up Your Learning Design with Google Series’ aims to guide learners through the creation and implementation of a learning experience using the various google tools. Starting from considerations of deploying a tech-enabled training session, they will have the opportunity to brainstorm on how they can utilise the various google tools to create a 4-hour learning experience using a ‘4 D’s of Learning’ as the approach of integrating technology into workplace learning.
