What is the session about?

Join this SIG on peer coaching and learn as a group to address real work challenges. This SIG is the first session of a 3-part SIG (Coaching & Mentoring) series that will see us through the rest of 2019. This series will model a Community of Practice (CoP) where you are invited to participate more deeply in the process of sharing and mutual learning for the purpose of honing your skills and professional practice.

You are therefore requested to bring along a real workplace challenge, ideally related to Coaching and Mentoring and these workplace challenges will be the basis for further discussion for future sessions.

A peer coaching process will be employed to draw on the collective wisdom and experience of the group. The process seeks to clarify the core issues within the particular workplace challenge, explore possible ways forward, distil key actions to take and resulting learning. You are then expected to follow through on the agreed actions and be prepared to share at the next SIG. The third SIG will wrap up the series by consolidating overall learning and reflect on the benefit of peer coaching within an organisational context.

Hence, it would be ideal if you are able to participate in all 3 sessions to take advantage of the full learning journey experience.

What does the session cover?

At the end of the session, you will:

  • Address a real workplace challenge
  • Experience a peer coaching and learning group
  • Practice specific coaching behaviours
  • Take away new lessons and actions to apply
