What is this programme about?
At some point in our lives, we need to speak confidently before an audience. Telling stories is distinctly human, its hardwired into our DNA; connects with the emotional part of our brain and aids memory. Telling stories to aid learning does not have to be complicated and in this workshop, we learn a simple MARS approach to planning a story and a simple 3-step approach in telling a story.
In this workshop, examine how a memorable story is told, deconstruct it, and delve into the ingredients of what make good story telling. Practice is key in planning and delivering a story, so we will spend time planning, sharing and delivering our stories. With feedback from our fellow adult learners and adult educator, we will take incremental steps to improve the art of storytelling. We will also learn the importance of practicing storytelling and making it into a fine art.
We will examine the relationship between a joke and a story, as well as, practice how to deliver amusing stories that captivate and connect to our audience. Come join this interesting and memorable storytelling session or just come for a fun learning experience!
