Content: The facilitator shared about the state of micro-learning as a technology that will benefit the experience of adult learning and some use-case scnenarios on how trainers and training providers can utilize the technology

Topic: Better mental well-being in an era of remote working & learning (23rd August)

Speaker: Ms. Bhali Gill

Content: The facilitator shared about research-backed best practices in improving mental wellness as we are balancing remote working and learning with personal time requirement.

Topic: Enhance adult learning outcomes with Team-Based Learning (17th August)

Speaker: Prof. Brian O'Dwyer

Content: The facilitator demonstrated how to utilize team-based learning pedagogy to improve the learning outcome and satisfaction for adult learning, pointing to higher knowledge retention and engagement quality. (Session is done in conjuction with Skillsfuture Month 2021)

Topic: Areas to watch out for as trainers in this new privacy-conscious environment (12th August)

Speaker: Mr. Desmond Sim

Content: The facilitator shared about how trainer and training provider could adapt to the new challenges in increasingly privacy-concious learners environment. He breaks down some of the easy steps to comply with Singapore's PDPA and Anti-Spam Act. (Session is done in conjuction with Skillsfuture Month 2021)

Topic: Improve Training Performance Using Data Analytics (29th July)

Speaker: Mr. Aditya 

Content: The facilitator shared about how data analytics can be used to improve training performance. Learners' attention span, delivery recording could be automatically analysed to generate actionable insights for every section of the training session.

Topic: Checklist Before Expanding Your Training to Overseas Learners (27th July 2021)

Speaker: Ms. Shweta Batra

Content: The facilitator shared about a physical and mental checklist before bringing your training to reach overseas learners, inclusive of things to watch out and consider in the planning and execution stage.

Topic: Capture the Right Target Audience with An Effective Course Objective (13th July 2021)

Speaker: Mr. Ngiam Tee Woh

Content: The facilitator shared about the dos and don'ts in formulating course objective of learning or collaboration session, in order to reach the correct target audience and create the value intended by trainers.

Topic: Fireside chat on Pedagogy behind Audio-first Learning (8th July 2021)

Speaker: Ms. Denise Pang

Content: The facilitator shared on best practices and contextualized examples in making auditory component the forefront consideration in designing learning and collaboration. She shared that more attention needs to be paid to designing audio  experience to combat visual zoom fatigue, and leverage on emotion-invoking capability of sound.

Topic: Enable Hybrid Engagement - for in-person and live audience concurrently (23rd June 2021)

Speaker: Jonta Koga

Content: The facilitator shared about 3 software that trainers can use to meaningfully capture live training for concurrent online learners. The solution introduced is able to control the stacking of visual elements (multi-webcam, slides, pictures or video) and audio elements (multiple mic or sound-in sources) to a single stream that will be broadcasted over Zoom or other tele-conferencing platform

Topic: Digital Play for Serious Learning (15th June 2021)

Speaker: Dr. Bina Rai

Content: The facilitator shared the differences between serious games, gamification and simulation; all of which can be utilized to increase learners' engagement. She contextualized the theoretical concepts with examples of her past experience and use-case scenario in gamifying the engagement and training of online learners.

Topic: Capture Live Audience Interaction Directly from Powerpoint (9th June 2021)

Speaker: Dr. Yong Hsin Ning/ Dr. John Yan

Content: Both facilitators shared about best practices in engaging and training an online learners and utilize an edtech add-ons to capture and present live audience input directly on Microsoft Powerpoint. This tool is useful for the trainers who don't wish to sacrifice their familiarity with using Microsoft Office and enable cloud-based features in getting learners' input.

Topic: Fireside Chat - Improving Visual Engagement (1st June 2021)

Speaker: Ms. Kaixin Koh

Content: The facilitator discussed about easily-applicable advices to increase the visual element of training and engagement. She further shared about her past experiences in improving visuals for high-stake engagement and making learning material more inclusive.

Topic: Communicating Authenticity in Any Online Workplace Learning (27th May 2021)

Speaker: Ms. Yip Gheng-Lai

Content: The facilitator shared on some of the advices that managers and individuals could use in planning their training programme, so that the authenticity comes through despite limitations of delivering the content via online channels.

Topic: Enabling and Encouraging Spontaneous Workplace Learning Opportunities (19th May 2021)

Speaker: Mr. Saad Kamal

Content: The facilitator shared about the research findings in workplace communication and some advices in enabling spontaneous communication, collaboration and training, on par with the situations for employees working from office.

Topic: Clarify your doubts on delivering online learning (17th May 2021)

Speaker: Mr. Thum Cheng Cheong

Content: The session was created for attendees to clarify some doubts they have on delivering online training and collaboration, as a response to the tightening of safe distancing measures. The facilitator shared about the use of Padlet, as an easy-to-use tools to enable a quick and user-friendly collaboration and sharing of ideas.

Topic: Navigating a Freelance Career: A Must-know for Freelance Trainers (12th May 2021)

Speaker: Ms. Tan SiewAnn

Content: The facilitator shared about some of best practices in becoming a more effective freelance adult trainer, such as prospecting, elements of written contract and automating the workflow.

Topic: Encouraging workplace learning for third-party and contractors in the age of gig economy (5th May 2021)

Speaker: Ms. Yoong Junming & Mr. NK Chari

Content: The facilitator shed light on how Castrol successfully enabled workplace learning for their global indirect salesforce through systematic planning and gamification, despite the challenges imposed by COVID-19. The session also includes things to look-out for in planning your own workplace learning strategy especially for indirect/ outsourced employees you have.

Topic: Inciting learners' curiosity and motivation (28th April 2021)

Content: The facilitator hosted a discussion and shared about tips and tricks in ensuring learners' curiosity and staying motivated in online delivery of learning.

Topic: How can IAL Innovation Centre helps you? (13th April 2021)

Speaker: Mr. Jonta Koga

Content: The facilitator shared about the product offerings from IAL Innovation Centre that is relevant for community members of Training and Adult Education (TAE) sectors, inclusive of individual trainers, training providers, L&D outfits within enterprise and solution providers with tools that can benefit TAE community.

Content: The facilitator explored some of the issues commonly faced by trainers and collaboration host in enabling effective engagement. The facilitator also explored some of the research-backed tips in making sure learners from varying culture, motivation and competency could be positively impacted with careful advanced planning.

Content: Find out just how well you are using Pear Deck’s powerful tools, and how to take your skills to the next level. Demonstrations, using actual audience learning material, will showcase the advanced tools in a relatable, practical way. And what you’ll learn will continue to serve you well even after the transition back to traditional training.

Topic: LEVEL UP↗: How well are you using Nearpod? (24th Feb 2021)

Speaker: Mr. Thum CC

Content: The facilitator explored how advanced features of Nearpod could be used to increase the efficacy and quality of online engagement. Online engagement is not restricted to just training, but collaboration and sharing sessions in a wokrplace that is still displaced by COVID safety measures.

Topic: Online innovBite on Nearpod

Speaker: Mr Thum Cheng Cheong, who is ACTA-trained and is an associate law lecturer with SIM Global Education (SIMGE), Singapore University of Social Sciences (SUSS) and Singapore Accountancy Academy Global Education (SAA-GE).

Content: In the 2-hour session, Mr Thum shared some tips on using Nearpod, a freemium platform that can be used by educators to create presentations containing quizzes, polls, videos, images, etc, for interactive learning. The online InnovBite was conducted via Zoom, a video and audio conferencing software that allows participants to meet virtually and synchronously, even when facilitator and participants are located in different physical locations.
