What Is This Session About?
Through guided application, educators will create ready-to-use PBL problem triggers tailored to their specific subject areas, supported by relevant resources. They will also gain confidence in using AI to complement, rather than replace, their pedagogical expertise.
By bridging PBL theory and practice with cutting-edge tools, this course aims to position adult educators as frontrunners in learning innovation within their classrooms.
What Does The Session Cover?
Participants will create ready-to-use PBL problem triggers tailored to their industry, along with supporting resources to facilitate their effective use. These may include prompts, scaffolds, or contextual materials that guide problem exploration and learner engagement. By strengthening their capacity to design purposeful, practice-oriented triggers, adult educators position themselves to lead innovation in their classrooms and better equip learners for complex, evolving challenges.

^ Completion: Upon 100% attendance and meeting Assessment requirement, learners will receive a Certificate of Participation from IAL (& other partners where applicable)

Course Funding and Policies
Payment
Please proceed to make payment via eNets/credit card (VISA or MasterCard) at the end of the registration process. Kindly note that the system will automatically cancel the registration if full payment has not been successfully processed by 11.59pm (Singapore Time) on the same day of the registration. You will have to reapply for the course, subject to availability of vacancy at the point of your re-registration.
Additional Funding Available, If Applicable
Singaporeans aged 25 years old and above are eligible for SkillsFuture Credit which can be used to offset the selected programmes' fees for self-sponsored registrations only.
Please note the submission period for your SFC claim via MySkillsFuture needs to be within 60 days before the course start date (date inclusive). If your course start date is more than 60 days from the date of SFC application, the SSG-SFC portal would reject your application. In this case, you would need to pay the full course fees at the end of your course application.
Rescheduling
Request for rescheduling must be submitted to IAL 2 weeks before the commencement of programme. Reschedule requests that come mid-way through training has to be supported by valid reasons; substantiated by references as evidence; such as a doctor's note; or a hospitalization chit.

Withdrawal
Request for withdrawal from a programme is subjected to review by IAL and the decision is final. IAL reserves the right to request for supporting document(s). A non-refundable administration fee of S$54.50 w/GST ($50) is applicable for withdrawal request. If the withdrawal notice is given less than 2 weeks before the programme start date, the paid fees will not be refunded.
Corporate Run
For dedicated corporate runs with a contract signed with IAL, billing and payment will follow the terms of the signed contract. Otherwise, payment would be expected upon registration.
About the Speaker

Abdul Kahlid (Dr)
Principal Lecturer | Republic Polytechnic
Dr. Abdul Kahlid is a seasoned educator, coach, and mentor with over 30 years of experience in adult learning, education, and leadership development. He is currently a Principal Lecturer at Republic Polytechnic’s Centre for Educational Development, where he trains and coaches academic staff to enhance teaching practices. As an Adjunct Adult Educator with the Institute for Adult Learning (IAL), he supports professionals and adult learners in their growth journeys.
Previously, Dr. Kahlid held leadership roles at Republic Polytechnic, including Assistant Director (Continuing Education & Training) and Programme Chair, where he developed professional development programmes and pioneered Singapore’s first tertiary qualifications in Outdoor and Adventure Learning. His earlier career at Outward Bound Singapore spanned 15 years, involving experiential training across sectors and international certifications.
He is an ICF Associate Certified Coach, Certified Facilitator, and Certified Problem Crafter, with credentials from EMCC, Asia Institute of Mentoring, and Mindvalley. His coaching, grounded in the Ontological model, empowers individuals to overcome barriers and grow purposefully.
Dr. Kahlid holds a Master of Education from the University of Sheffield and a Doctor of Education from the University of Edinburgh.
