Quickly discover the purpose of role badges: skill‑based credentials created with industry partners, timestamped for relevance and designed to enhance mobility across and into TAE roles

What is a Role Badge?

Role badges indicate the responsibilities of a particular job role:

  • Stackable and skills-based*
  • Collaboration with sector (domain) partners
  • Dated / Version-controlled for currency
  • Allows for mobility across sectors (for TAE professionals) or for mobility into TAE sector (for Domain professionals)


*Not to be confused with primary-role adult educators professionals who need to meet certain certifications to meet SSG AE requirements.

Workplace Learning Professional Role Badge with IHRP

Developed in partnership with IHRP, this pilot enables L&D Practitioners as well as Adult Educators to stake selected IHRP and IAL Skills Badges to enhance their expertise in workplace learning. To earn the Workplace Learning Professional Role Badge, individuals must attain seven (7) skills badges:
