What Is This Session About?

In today’s business climate, new work competencies are added frequently, and expectation of skills are increasing. Hence, building a Competency Dictionary for job roles has become important. It is a key resource for work skills performance, career articulation and employee training plans. It is also an active repository of company skills information. There is a general lack of this competency dictionary development and deployment knowhow in the marketplace – from inventorisation of task skills to tge development of performance standards and establishment of skills credentials for employee recognition. The course employs the Functional Job Analysis approach, which is a systematic way to describe work from the perspectives of the Worker, the Work, and the Work Setting. It encompasses functions, subfunctions, activities, and tasks, as well as the functional requirements of each task concerning data, people, things, reasoning, math, language, worker instructions, performance standards, and training content. It is a fundamental approach for Job Task Analysis and Skills Inventorisation.
