Skills Learnability Index

Skills Learnability Index

As the world of work rapidly evolves through digital transformation, demographic shifts, and the green transition, continuous skill development has never been more essential. The Skills Learnability Index offers a structured, data-driven way to understand how the relative ease of learning a skill -by analysing factors such as skill complexity, baseline competencies, and the effort required to acquire them.

While many workforce tools and career resources focus on skills demand and job trends, the Skills Learnability Index goes a step further by showing how learnable these skills are. This enables individuals, employers, and policymakers to compare skills, plan realistic development pathways, and design more effective training and workforce strategies that align with evolving labour market needs.

To learn more about how the Index was constructed, its framework design, and how it can be used across different contexts, please download the full report below.

Explore the Skills Learnability Dashboard

To enhance your experience, we’ve developed an interactive Skills Learnability Dashboard that enables you to freely explore and compare the Skills Learnability Index (SLI) across different skills. A higher Learnability Index score indicates that a skill is more learnable—in other words, easier to learn. Please note that the Index is intended for relative comparison; scores should be interpreted in relation to other skills, rather than as standalone values.

For the best viewing experience, we recommend accessing the dashboard on a desktop device.
This dashboard is currently in beta, reflecting the data available at this stage. We are continuously refining the underlying data, methodology, and user experience.

How to use the Dashboard
