Background
Even established companies need to adapt to stay competitive. For LHL Group Pte Ltd, a reliable provider of back-office support to the Kimly Group, digital transformation has become an important focus. With increasing demands on HR operations and a need for more flexibility, LHL Group recognised the value of relooking at how work is done.
Rather than making rapid changes, LHL Group took a considered approach, aligning people, systems and goals. In 2024, based on a recommendation from Oracle NetSuite, LHL Group launched a workplace learning project in partnership with the Institute for Adult Learning Singapore (IAL), which also supports the National Centre of Excellence for Workplace Learning (NACE) network through NACE@IAL. With the support of external expertise and commitment from within, LHL Group set out to strengthen its HR functions, improve team collaboration and prepare for more streamlined operations ahead.
Project Alignment and Clarity
The project started with a joint review of the system requirements and intended outcomes, facilitated by the NACE@IAL workplace learning consultant. Working closely with the consultant and their HR platform vendor, LHL Group co-developed a proposal outlining the project’s scope, objectives and key deliverables. This early alignment helped minimise misunderstanding and set the stage for a more structured and goal-oriented implementation.
Team Effectiveness Boost
To support effective execution, LHL Group set up a cross-functional project team that included HR, operations and key decision-makers. The team structure was adjusted to clarify roles, improve coordination and involve the right expertise at each stage. These changes helped to streamline internal workflows, support more timely decision-making and encourage a stronger sense of ownership among team members.
Operational Readiness
A structured project schedule was put in place, outlining key deliverables and timelines, with ongoing coordination between LHL Group’s internal team and the HR platform vendor.
This planning helped support smoother execution and reduced potential disruptions. As a result, 35 employees across the organisation experienced more streamlined HR processes, better system usability and enhanced day-to-day support.
Transforming the Workforce through the NACE@IAL Consultancy Initiative
LHL Group’s transformation journey was made possible through its collaboration with IAL, under the NACE@IAL network. This consultancy initiative focus on building sustainable learning cultures, improving internal processes and equip workforce development.
For LHL Group, the initiative offered structured guidance. With support from IAL’s workplace learning consultant, the company was able to review its HR system migration plan, align its project team, and implement a solution suited its operational needs. Importantly, the engagement also helped LHL Group to embed workplace learning principles into daily routines, supporting employees in adapting to new systems and contributing to ongoing process improvements.
We participated in the NACE@IAL programme to benefit from the guidance of a workplace learning consultant, who supported us in facilitating a smooth and effective migration of our HR processes.
