More information on Training and Adult Educator Professional Pathway (TAEPP)
TAEPP is a new professional pathway (TAEPP) developed to further professionalise the Training and Adult Education (TAE) sector. The TAEPP provides a structured pathway for the skills development of Adult Educators (AEs) in delivering quality Continuing Education and Training (CET).
The National Adult Educator Registry, under the TAEPP framework, serves as the national benchmark to ensure the quality of AEs. To maintain their Registry status, AEs must also complete at least 40 Continuing Professional Development (CPD) hours and 80 practice hours every two years.

From 1 April 2026, AEs who wish to deliver SSG-supported training will be required to be on the national AE registry under TAEPP.
The registration process for the AEs will commence from 1 October 2025 to facilitate the onboarding process.

AEs who wish to deliver SSG-supported training are required to be on the registry. These AEs include trainers, assessors and curriculum developers taking on full time employment, part time adjuncts, freelancers on gig jobs as well as industry practitioners with domain expertise.
AEs are key to keeping Singapore’s workforce competitive by supporting continuous learning and upskilling. A competent AE ensures effective learning that benefits both individuals and organisations.
Currently, AEs who complete the WSQ Advanced Certificate in Learning and Performance (ACLP 2.0) are certified to conduct SSG-supported training and there is no requirement for ongoing skills renewal.
The TAEPP is a national level effort to transit to a continuous professional development model, ensuring AEs stay industry-relevant and pedagogically updated.

AEs can look forward to participating in Continuous Professional Development programmes and workshops, especially those that relate to fast-evolving and dynamic sectors (such as ICT, Cybersecurity, and Generative AI). This will provide a timely pathway to induct AEs into new skill areas.
The TAEPP requirements are aligned with AEs’ work environment.
IAL, with sector leads and industry partners, will identify key skills in pedagogy and industry domains to keep the CPDs relevant. CPD hours can be earned through training, workshops, conferences and workplace learning.

Existing SkillsFuture subsidies continue to be available for SSG-supported programmes at prevailing rates. AEs who are also union members can utilise NTUC/ESU’s Union Training Assistance Programme (UTAP) for professional development courses within the UTAP directory.
With the TAEPP, the TAE ecosystem is expected to become more inclusive, bringing more experts and industry practitioners into the pool of certified AEs.
IAL and SSG are working with industry partners to identify and onboard domain experts as registered AEs to recognise their credentials, experience, expertise and skills competencies. This includes industry-specific trainers who had completed the Accelerated Industry-centric Training Pathways (AITPs) programme and certified to train in their domain areas.

Currently, the new TAEPP will only be mandatory for AEs who wish to deliver SSG-supported training. We welcome AEs delivering non SSG-supported training to join the registry.
With TAEPP, training providers can access a central registry of AEs qualified to deliver SSG-supported training. This also streamlines admin and TAEPP registration renewal processes.
From 1 April 2026, only AEs registered under TAEPP may deliver SSG-supported training. Training providers are encouraged to register their AEs before this date.
