Overview

 

Facilitate Learning at the Workplace

This programme is targeted at individuals who are keen to faciliate, coach and assess learning in their organisation and are seeking new ways to enhance learning to elevate performance at the workplace.

You may already have excellent job domain skills and knowledge. However, imparting these abilities and ‘know-how’ to others may be challenging. The WSQ Workplace Learning Facilitator (WLF) programme aims to boost your competencies to deliver effective training and assessment at the workplace. You will increase your effectiveness as a workplace learning facilitator by learning to develop and deliver systematic learning plans and assessment records.

This programme is targeted at supervisors, line-leaders, reporting officers, and managers who are required to perform the following functions at work:

  • Train, coach and assess workplace learners using relevant workplace content and context.
  • Fulfil the Training and Adult Education (TAE) competencies recognised by SkillsFuture Singapore (SSG) for in-house Trainers and Assessors of SSG-funded certifiable courses.

 

WLF Modules and Training Commitment

 

You will attend designated classroom training for each module, supplemented by coaching sessions at your workplace where appropriate. During this programme, you will:

  • Engage in peer learning and a wide range of facilitated activities
  • Receive one-to-one coaching for more targeted learning support
  • Engage in skills practice to facilitate workplace learning and assessment 
  • Receive and share feedback on their learning experience and skills
WLF1: Facilitate Workplace Learning WLF2: Assess Workplace Learning

Develop and facilitate workplace learning interventions aligned to learners’ and enterprise needs to drive performance improvement.

Learn how to design and implement workplace learning assessments and provide feedback to your learners.

Workplace Learning Fundamentals

  • Identify the challenges of implementing workplace learning
  • Apply various data gathering methods to identify learning needs in the workplace

Workplace Learning Plan & Delivery

  • Practice workplace learning method: Demonstration
  • Design workplace learning task & facilitate workplace learning
  • Develop a workplace follow-up plan

Workplace Coaching

  • Practice workplace learning method: Coaching
  • Apply fact-finding for workplace performance
  • Conduct workplace coaching conversation

Prepare & Conduct Assessment

  • Design sustainable assessment for the workplace using the 6 Principles of Learning Design
  • Conduct workplace assessment using Workplace Assessment Tools
  • Practice code of ethics as an assessor

Determine Assessment Outcome

  • Assess workplace learning based on:
    • Principles of Assessment
    • Rules of Evidence

Feedback on Assessment

  • Communicate assessment decision with feedback

* The total facilitated learning hours eligible for Absentee Payroll is 45.5 hours, which includes face to face training, coaching and assessment.
The average estimated duration to complete this programme is 2-3 months.

 

WLF Stacks Towards a Full Qualification

 

The WLF programme includes competencies that are part of the WSQ Advanced Certificate in Learning and Performance (ACLP) qualification. WLF graduates who are keen to pursue attainment of the full ACLP qualification are equivalent to Module 4 (M4) and Elective module (E2) of the ACLP programme. Entry Requirements

 

To enrol, you must meet the following criteria:

  • Be employer-sponsored and given resource support, with your employer making available the relevant reference materials (e.g. standard operating procedures, checklists and job aids).
  • Have permission to use your worksite to conduct workplace learning and assessment learning activities.
  • Have good English proficiency (ie. English language at GCE ‘O’ Level of C6 and above, or WSQ Workplace Literacy skills of Level 6 and above).
  • Be keen to facilitate learning and assess adult learners through design, delivery and continuous improvement of learning activities in the workplace.
  • Possess appropriate subject matter specialisation and industry experience, relevant for the design, facilitation and assessment of learning.
  • Possess information and communication technology (ICT) skills
  • Be able to source and analyse relevant materials from the workplace, library, internet or online databases for design and development of learning resources

 

Fees & Funding

The programme fee covers training and assessment. The fees are inclusive of prevailing GST and subject to change. 

# MCES is applicable for Singaporeans aged 40 years and above.
^ Upon successful completion of WLF1, you will be awarded with a WSQ Statement of Attainment (SOA).
% Upon successful completion of WLF2, you will be awarded with an IAL Certificate.

 

Already completed WSQ Workplace Trainer Programme (WTP)?

 

WLF replaces the previous train-the-trainer Workplace Trainer Programme (WTP). If you have already completed WTP, you will continue to be recognised by SSG as meeting SSG’s Adult Education Qualification Requirements for Trainers and Assessors of in-house SSG-funded certifiable courses.
