What Is The Session About?

In this session, Dr Juergen Rudolph debunks eight common myths that portray artificial intelligence (AI) as autonomous, objective, and liberating. Drawing on research from multiple sources, he will show how generative AI can heighten uncertainty, erode academic integrity, and transform the nature of work.

Adult educators will leave with a practical framework for using AI critically and responsibly—grounded in evidence rather than hype.

What Does The Session Cover?

Terminal Learning Objective: Build critical thinking skills to assess AI claims and implement evidence-based AI practices in educational contexts.
Upon completion of this session, participants will be able to:

  2. Assess AI’s realworld impacts on education and work.
  3. Apply a critical, evidencebased framework for responsible AI use.
