What Is This Session About?

As learner needs become increasingly diverse, educators face growing pressure to design learning experiences that are both inclusive and engaging. Yet many traditional approaches struggle to accommodate different learning preferences and abilities while making effective use of technology.

This programme equips adult educators, learning and development professionals, instructional designers, and workplace learning practitioners with practical frameworks for designing learner-centred experiences. Participants will explore key models for technology integration, including TPACK/C-TPACK, SAMR and Universal Design for Learning (UDL), and examine how digital tools can support engagement, collaboration, assessment and content creation.

Through competency profiling, hands-on design activities, lesson planning, peer evaluation and reflection, participants will apply these frameworks to create inclusive learning experiences using technology. They will also use evidence-based rubrics to evaluate the quality of technology integration and learner-centredness in their designs.

By the end of the programme, participants will be able to design, implement and evaluate technology-enabled learning experiences that support meaningful participation and success for a diverse range of learners.

What Does The Session Cover?

Knowledge-based learning objectives: what participants will know at the end of the workshop (their understanding)
1. State the theoretical frameworks guiding technology integration in teaching and learning.
2. State the key considerations of the UDL principles for designing inclusive learning for all.

Skills-based learning objectives: what participants will be able to do at the end of the workshop (their application)
1. Use at least three digital tools from different categories for teaching and learning.
2. Apply the relevant theoretical frameworks in the design of inclusive and learner-centred lesson activities using technology.
3. Evaluate the technology integration aspect of lesson plans using evidence-based rubrics.

Who Is It Suitable For?

  • Adult Educators/Facilitators and Instructional Designers: Those actively involved in designing and delivering training programs for adult learners in various settings will gain practical strategies to enhance engagement and cater to diverse learning needs. They will also acquire valuable frameworks and tools to build more inclusive and accessible learning experiences from the outset.

  • Workforce Development Specialists/Learning and Development Leaders: Individuals focused on upskilling and reskilling initiatives within organisations or government agencies will find this program instrumental in designing effective and equitable training for a diverse workforce. Those overseeing and implementing professional development programs within organisations will be equipped to enhance the inclusivity and impact of their offerings through technology-enhanced UDL strategies.

  • Education Technology Specialists in Adult Learning: Professionals whose role involves integrating technology into adult education programs will gain deeper insights into leveraging digital tools to support UDL principles and improve learning outcomes.
