About Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL)
Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL) at IAL comprises two pathways:
• RPL Type 1: Credit Transfer, for applicants with comparable formal qualifications seeking credit exemptions; and
• RPL Type 2: Skills Credentialling, for experienced practitioners who demonstrate equivalent competencies through professional practice and prior learning.

Who Is It For?
Experienced Adult Educators (AE) who have:
- Accumulated at least two years of relevant Training and Adult Education (TAE) experience and have demonstrated competence in practice
- Attained comparable TAE-related qualifications recognized by IAL
How Will I Benefit?
Experienced Adult Educators (AE) who have:
- Elevated professional standing through attainment of Skills Badge(s), leading to Professional AE Level 2 or Senior Professional AE Level 3 of the TAEPP tiered category.
- Recognition for competencies aligned to qualification programmes such as the WSQ ACLP attained through Credit Exemption(s) under Skills Credentialling is equivalent to those who have completed WSQ ACLP under the Facilitated Learning Pathway which typically takes a longer time.
How Does Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL) Work?
Skills Credentialling is a comprehensive one-stop skills assessment service platform that applicants can use to apply for credit exemption against selected qualification-based programmes, skills badges or skills badges.
Credit Transfer
Fulfill SkillsFuture Singapore (SSG) Adult Education (AE) Qualifications Requirements for AEs to function as Trainers and Assessors for SSG-funded WSQ and non-WSQ certifiable courses.

Skills Credentialling
Gain digital credentials that signal the attainment of special-ised skill-sets substantiated by practice accomplishments, thereby helps elevate one's professional standing in TAE.

- Respond to lAL's email notification on your successful attainment of Skills Badge! If you have successfully attained more than one Skills Badge, make payment for additional Skills Badge.
