Expert Session: Strategic Foresight – Leading with the Future in Mind
06 Nov 2026
9am - 1pm
Institute for Adult Learning, Experiment Room
What is this session about?
As organisations navigate an increasingly uncertain landscape shaped by AI, geopolitical shifts, evolving customer expectations, and changing business models, strategic foresight has become a critical leadership capability. Rather than attempting to predict the future, foresight enables leaders to systematically explore emerging trends, anticipate potential disruptions, and position their organisations to thrive amid uncertainty.
Drawing on his extensive experience in the banking and financial services sector, Mr Ian Wong will share how strategic foresight informs enterprise strategy, innovation, risk management, and investment decisions. Through practical examples, participants will gain insights into horizon scanning, scenario planning, and strategic conversations that help organisations identify opportunities, mitigate risks, and build long-term resilience.
The session will encourage participants to think beyond today’s challenges and develop a future-oriented leadership mindset, equipping them to make more informed decisions in an increasingly complex and dynamic environment.
