Accelerated Industry-centric Training Pathway 2.0 (AITP 2.0) is the latest version of the programme and will replace AITP 1.0 with effect from 3 Aug 2026.
From 1 October 2023, Singaporean Citizens / Permanent Residents learners who are attending Skills and Workforce Development Agency (SWDA)'s funded courses must take their attendance digitally via the Singpass App for attendance-taking for both physical classroom and synchronous e-learning courses.

Course Overview
Duration: 35.5 hours (including 2.5 hours of assessment) across two modules
The Accelerated Industry-centric Training Pathway 2.0 (AITP 2.0) is a focused pathway designed for experienced industry professionals and is offered as an organisation- or sector-specific programme. It recognises participants’ prior expertise and experience, while ensuring alignment with essential trainer and assessor competencies required in workplace learning contexts.
AITP 2.0 offers a shortened, targeted learning experience aligned to the WSQ 2.0 skills-first approach, and the purposeful use of technology and Gen AI to support lesson design, assessment preparation, and learning facilitation.
Comprising Modules 1 and 2 of ACLP 3.0, it develops the essential capabilities needed to understand learners, facilitate effective learning and assess competence credibly within a shared industry context.
At approximately half the duration of ACLP 3.0, it offers a more focused option for organisations and learners who do not immediately require the full Adult Educator qualification.
AITP 2.0 is not a full WSQ qualification, but learners may subsequently progress by completing ACLP 3.0 Modules 3 and 4.
These programmes are offered by the Institute for Adult Learning (IAL), an autonomous institute of the Singapore University of Social Sciences (UEN: 200504979Z) (SUSS).

Note:
If you have attained the WSQ Advanced Certificate in Training and Assessment (ACTA), you will continue to be recognised as meeting SWDA's Adult Education qualifications requirements for Adult Educators to function as Trainers and Assessors for SWDA-Funded WSQ and non-WSQ Certifiable courses.
Modules
- AITP 2.0 consists of the first 2 modules (M1 & M2) of ACLP 3.0
- PPA: Practical Performance Assessment (e.g. Presentation & Facilitation; Role-play; Oral Questioning)
Duration: 25.5 hours (including 1.5 hours PPA)
This module equips participants with core facilitation skills to design and deliver engaging, learner-centred experiences for adult learners. It focuses on understanding learner profiles, applying andragogical principles, and facilitating active learning across different contexts to support effective knowledge and skills acquisition.
Participants learn to interpret learner information and translate their findings into practical design and facilitation decisions. They consider learners’ experience, needs, motivations, contexts and possible barriers before selecting suitable learning modes, instructional methods, activities and technology tools.
The module then moves from design to delivery.
Participants learn to facilitate contextualised learning experiences by applying questioning, communication and feedback techniques. They practise encouraging participation, managing group dynamics, responding to learner progress and adapting their approach when learning does not proceed as expected.
The emphasis is not simply on preparing a lesson plan or presenting content. Participants must demonstrate a clear relationship between:
- what they understand about their learners;
- how they design the learning experience;
- how they facilitate participation and engagement; and
- how their decisions support achievement of the intended learning outcomes.

Duration: 10 hours (including 1 hour PPA)
This module develops participants’ ability to adapt and conduct competency-based assessments aligned to WSQ 2.0 standards. Participants learn about assessment principles, strategies, assessment tools, and make sound assessment decisions that focus on demonstrated competence rather than task completion.
For support practice, participants learn how to prepare the candidate and assessment environment, conduct assessments according to established requirements, gather appropriate evidence and make assessment decisions that are fair, valid and defensible.
The module is grounded in actual assessment practice. Participants consider how an assessor should:
- prepare candidates and clarify assessment requirements;
- use assessment tools and methods correctly;
- apply the principles of assessment and rules of evidence;
- maintain professionalism, impartiality and ethical conduct;
- record relevant evidence accurately;
- make decisions based on evidence rather than personal impression; and provide clear and constructive feedback.

Entry Requirements
- Have English proficiency (English language at GCE 'O' Level of C6 and above, or Workplace Literacy skills of Level 6 and above). Please refer to the table below for acceptable alternatives.
- Possess an appropriate level of subject matter specialisation and industry experience, relevant for the design, facilitation and assessment of learning.
- Minimum 5 years in the domain expertise (for ACLP 3.0 applicants, the application must be supported by the employer's recommendation/referee's/self-testimonial). Download the template here.
- Possess information and communication technology (ICT) skills, including:
- Be able to source and analyse relevant materials from the workplace, library, internet (including Gen AI use) and online databases for research, productivity, and resource development.
- Using word processing and presentation software for report writing and presentation.

- This is an asynchronous e-learning course.
- Applicants are to complete the course and upload the course completion certificate as part of the AITP 2.0 entry requirements.
- Admin fee of $54.50 (including GST) applies for registration.

Completion Requirements
- Learners are required to meet a minimum of 75% attendance or miss no more than one (1) session for WSQ programme/course and where applicable. Attendance is calculated by per session of three (3) hours.
- Attain a "C" (Competent) grade for all modules. In lieu of a "Competent" grade, a credit exemption issued for that module is also acceptable.
Fees and Fundings
The fee is inclusive of prevailing GST and subject to changes.

- Successfully attain a ‘Competent’ (C) grading for the final assessment result for each module. (Please refer to IAL's attendance policy for eligibility of assessment).

- SWDA funding for each programme is capped at S$7,000, regardless of the applicable funding scheme. As such, learners who are eligible for up to 90% funding under the Mid-Career Enhanced Subsidy (MCES) may receive a lower funding amount if the calculated subsidy exceeds the S$7,000 funding cap.
Mandatory e-Attendance via Singpass App from 1 October 2023
- Singaporean Citizens/Permanent Residents are required to set up your Singpass account and download the Singpass App prior to course commencement.
- Learners will have to submit a transfer request, with an applicable fee, if they do not have their Singpass ready on the first day of class.
- Please be present in class (physical and online) 15 minutes before the scheduled lesson time on the actual day and have the following ready:
- Smart device (e.g., smartphone or iPad) with a functioning camera.
- Singpass mobile app installed on the smart device.
- Login credentials for the Singpass App.
Payment Advisory for Self-sponsored Applicants
All WSQ course applicants are required to pay a non-refundable application fee of S$65.40 (inclusive of GST) within 48 hours of submission for their application to be processed.
All applications will undergo a thorough evaluation of entry requirements, and applicants will be notified of the outcome within 5 days after the institution receives the course application.
Only successful applicants will be offered admission and receive a notification to complete payment of the course fees before the offer expires, as stated under the Application details in the Learner Portal.
Payment may be made via eNets/credit card (VISA or MasterCard) and/or SkillsFuture Credit (SFC), where applicable for self-sponsored learners.

The ACLP 3.0 is a streamlined version of the previous ACLP. It covers all the Knowledge, and Abilities (Ks and As) within the Technical Skills and Competencies (TSCs) and enable learners to gain and deepen their skillsets in the area of classroom facilitation, assessment, workplace learning, and tech-enhanced learning.
AITP 2.0 is an accelerated pathway comprising only the first two modules of ACLP 3.0, designed for experienced professionals and typically delivered in organisation- or sector-specific contexts.
There are requirements that you will need to meet in order to attend the programme. The Entry Requirements can be found in the section above.
IAL may request additional documentation to verify your eligibility or may require you to attend an interview to assess your suitability for the programme.

Learners who do not meet the requirements for English Language proficiencies as required by the respective courses need to take the Workplace Literacy (WPL) – Computer Adaptive Test (CAT) and secure the ES WSQ WPL qualification for listening and speaking reading and writing modalities. At the end of the module, learners will be assessed through oral interviews or presentations, written assignments and practical performances. Practical performances can either be conducted in-person or online.
Throughout the module, learners will also be assessed via various means, including class presentations, demonstrations or practical performances.
