Jazreel Tan is a Senior Researcher at Singapore’s Institute for Adult Learning, specialising in quantitative research on enterprise strategy, workforce development, skills, and performance. She has contributed to major IAL studies, including the Business Performance and Skills Survey (BPSS), which provides establishment-level findings to inform sectoral skills policies, and research examining how Singapore firms convert skills and training investments into measurable business gains. Her research applies a configurational approach to understand how business and people strategies interact, particularly how organisations align work, skills, and capability development to achieve stronger performance outcomes. She is especially interested in job design as a crucial lever for connecting business needs with skills development in Singapore, enabling firms to translate workforce investments into productivity, innovation, and sustainable growth. Her work strengthens the evidence base for workforce and skills strategies, supporting organisations and policymakers to better align people development with business performance and long-term competitiveness.
