Principal Researcher, Research Division

Areas of Expertise: Learning Practice, Workforce and Skills Development, Research & Data Analytics, Policy & Systems Thinking

Specialist in quality assurance, evaluation systems, and capability development across higher education and adult learning. Her research examines how quality and evaluation infrastructures perform, and sometimes struggle, amid disruption and change, including the growing impact of AI on knowledge work and learning systems. A developing strand explores employability and capability deployment: how learners translate knowledge into practice, extending from higher education into adult and workforce learning. She also works on productive ageing and capability development across longer working lives, spanning research, policy, and practice. Distinctive to her work is a commitment to practitioner-research partnership — developing frameworks and tools organisations can actually use, and finding rigorous language for approaches practitioners have often built intuitively. She holds an Education Doctorate from Cambridge and a PhD in Business Management, and brings over 25 years of UK higher education experience as an academic and programme leader, spanning undergraduate through to doctoral levels.
