Assistant Director, Centre for Workplace and Learning Innovation

Areas of Expertise: Workforce and Skills Development, Policy & Systems Thinking

Mike Ghasemi brings 25 years of expertise in innovation leadership, digital transformation and organisational change management to his role at the Centre for Workplace and Learning Innovation (CWLI). His work centres on helping organisations build the capability, culture and systems needed to innovate deliberately rather than by accident, translating academic rigour into practical tools that leaders can use immediately. Mike specialises in innovation strategy, business model design and future ready leadership development, with a particular focus on how organisations across Asia Pacific can close the gap between strategic ambition and operational execution. He has developed proprietary frameworks and assessment tools used to help executive teams identify innovation blind spots, redesign business models under pressure, and build durable habits of experimentation across all levels of the organisation. His approach draws on evidence-based research, combining structured frameworks with real world case studies to make complex innovation theory usable at the coalface. He works directly with senior leaders, from CXOs to frontline managers, to shift innovation from a buzzword into a measurable organisational capability. At CWLI, Mike focuses on advancing the learning innovation agenda, designing programmes and research initiatives that equip organisations and adult educators with the mindsets, methods and tools to navigate continuous disruption.
