Mr Boo Chong-Han
Deputy Executive Director
Mr Boo Chong-Han is the Deputy Executive Director of the Institute for Adult Learning (IAL) from 1 July 2026.
Prior to joining IAL, Chong-Han was the Deputy Principal of Republic Polytechnic overseeing academic policies and organisational development. In his 13 years with the Polytechnic, he also took on various portfolios, including the role as Director of School of Infocomm and Senior Director for Student Services, Planning and Corporate Communication.
Throughout his distinguished career in the Singapore Public Service, Chong-Han held a range of leadership and management appointments. At the Ministry of Education, he served as Principal of Bedok View Secondary School. He also had appointments at the Ministry’s Headquarters as Deputy Director (Recruitment and Posting) of Personnel Division and Assistant Director (Pupil Placement) of Corporate Service Division. In other Ministries, he was Director of the PS21 Office, Public Service Division and Assistant Director (Conceptual Planning), Joint Operation and Planning Division at the Ministry of Home Affairs.
Chong-Han has a Postgraduate Diploma in Education (Secondary) from the National Institute of Education, a Master in Public Management from the National University of Singapore’s Lee Kuan Yew School of Public Policy, and a Bachelor of Science (Physics) from Imperial College, London. In recognition of his contributions to the Public Service, Chong-Han was awarded the Public Administration Medal (Silver) in 2020.
