Appointment of Adult Education Fellows

Fact Sheet

The Institute for Adult Learning (IAL) has appointed the inaugural cohort of 12 Adult Education Fellows (AEFs) under the national Training and Adult Educator Professional Pathway (TAEPP). This is the highest professional recognition under TAEPP. The Fellows are leaders in the field of Training and Adult Education (TAE), with diverse expertise spanning public policy, higher education, accountancy, aerospace engineering, nursing and the culinary arts.

The appointments recognise individuals who have made significant contributions to the TAE field and demonstrated excellence in practice, a commitment to lifelong learning and mentorship, and influence within their sectors and beyond. As leaders and role models in the TAE community, the Fellows will also play an important role in nurturing the next generation of TAE professionals by sharing their experience, mentoring practitioners and contributing their expertise to the development of the sector.

TAEPP provides a structured pathway for the skills development and professionalisation of Adult Educators in Singapore. AEFs represent the apex of the TAEPP pathway, with adult educators joining the pathway at the Associate Adult Educator, Professional Adult Educator or Senior Professional Adult Educator levels.

Each Fellow is appointed for a three-year term. Through their appointment, IAL will work with the AEFs to further advance adult learning practice, including through thought leadership, capability development, mentoring and the sharing of professional expertise.
