What Is This Session About?
This intermediate programme equips adult educators and workplace learning professionals to move beyond simply generating content towards designing purposeful, learner-centred resources using Google AI tools. Participants apply instructional design principles while learning to curate information, critically evaluate AI outputs, and create multimodal learning resources aligned with workplace needs. Through guided practice, authentic design activities, and the development of an AI-assisted resource library, learners strengthen their ability to make informed design decisions rather than rely on AI-generated first drafts.
By the end of the programme, participants will be able to produce accurate, engaging, and workplace-ready learning resources that support effective learning and can be confidently applied within their own professional contexts.
Together with Experience Designer with Google AI: Reimagining Learning and Assessment, this programme forms the intermediate tier of the IAL-Google (ADAPT) series. Participants who complete both programmes will receive a joint IAL-Google certificate.
What Does The Session Cover?
This intermediate programme introduces a structured workflow for AI-assisted resource design: curate, evaluate, create, and organise learning resources for workplace learning. Participants learn instructional design principles, learner-centred design, constructive alignment, cognitive load, and multimodal resource development. They use Gemini Deep Research to identify and evaluate information using the CRAAP framework, develop text-based resources with Gemini and Gemini Canvas, create knowledge-grounded materials using NotebookLM, and design visual and video resources with Google Vids and Canvas.
Throughout the programme, participants apply ethical, copyright, accessibility, and responsible AI practices while developing resources for authentic workplace contexts. The programme culminates in an AI Resource Design Challenge where participants create and present a curated AI-assisted resource library demonstrating critical evaluation, instructional design, and practical application using multiple Google AI tools.
^ Assessment: Formative Assessment(s), Assignments/Presentations/Practical Performances)
