Pathway 2: Skills Credentialling for Stackable Badges

Skills Credentialling can extend beyond the award of individual Skills Badges. Selected Skills Badges may be combined or stacked towards a broader form of professional or role-based recognition.

A Stackable Badge recognises a defined combination of capabilities. The Skills Badges and any additional requirements needed will depend on the purpose and requirements of the respective Stackable Badge.

IAL's current Stackable Badge offering is the Accelerated Industry-centric Training Pathway (AITP) Role Badge.

How will I benefit?

How will I benefit?

Stackable Badges enable you to build on individual areas of demonstrated proficiency towards broader professional or role-based recognition. The AITP Role Badge is one such Stackable Badge. It recognises capability across relevant adult educator role functions and supports professional recognition within TAEPP, subject to prevailing requirements.

The AITP Role Badge

The Accelerated Industry-centric Training Pathway (AITP) Role Badge is the current Stackable Badge offering under Skills Credentialling. It recognises demonstrated capability across key Adult Educator functions within an industry context.

The AITP Role Badge reflects the ability to perform key functions, including:

  • facilitating learner-centred learning experiences that support adult learners in achieving intended learning outcomes.
  • implementing and evaluating valid, reliable and fair assessments that measure learners' achievement of intended competencies.

Holders of the AITP Role Badge meet the entry criteria for TAEPP Level 1 - Sector Professionals, subject to prevailing TAEPP requirements.

Important: Holders of the AITP Role Badge are restricted to delivering Skills and Workforce Development Agency-supported courses within the defined industry-specific sector.

Overview of Skills Credentialling Assessment Process

For AITP Role Badge applicants: Prepare Pedagogical Competence form.

Stage 1: Screening / Advisory

For AITP Role Badge applicants: Submit Pedagogical Competence form.

Stage 2: Assessment Interview

Notification of Outcome(s)

Award of Skills Badges to successful applicants after careful review.

Unsuccessful applicants will be notified.

How Can I Apply?

Applicants can choose between two application tracks:

  • AI-Assisted Application, read more below [only applicable for AITP Role Badge]
  • Non-AI-Assisted Application (no AI involved, human assessor throughout)

Both routes follow the same competency standards, rigor and assessment criteria.

AI-Assisted Application

Purpose

The purpose of the AI-Assisted Application route is to enhance the efficiency, consistency, and quality of the assessment process. It is implemented to support, not replace, professional judgement. All final assessment outcomes remain under the authority of qualified human assessors.

Intended Use

The AI system is used to support the human assessor in the preliminary review of application submissions. Assessment form, portfolio, and evidence received by IAL will be reviewed by a human assessor and processed through the AI system for gap analysis and preliminary evaluation. Applicants who apply through the AI-assisted route will still be required to participate in Stage 1 Screening and Stage 2 Assessment Interview, where human assessors will validate and clarify the submitted evidence.

The AI system will NOT:

•    Determine the final assessment result

•    Replace the role of human assessors

•    Provide certification decisions

•    Retain participant data (all processed data will be purged after the Skills Credentialling process).

•    Be trained using your data.

•    All final decisions are made by trained assessors in accordance with the Skills Credentialling framework.

Non-AI-Assisted Application

Applicants may opt for a fully manual, non-AI assessment in which a human assessor reviews the evidence and provides guidance. This option will result in a longer processing time and additional costs.
